Vitamin >>> Pantothenic Acid

A B-complex vitamin, pantothenic acid helps in the production of adrenal
gland hormones and energy by the human body. Deficiencies in pantothenic
acid can cause fatique, insomnia, and abdominal distress.

Pantothenic acid has been rumored to increase vitality and athletic
performance. There is some anecdotal evidence to suport this claim, although
no controlled studies have ever proven this. Evidence does suggest that
pantethine, a version of pantothenic acid often sold as a supplement, can
lower blood cholesterol. Pantothenic acid has also been attributed to the relief
of some symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.

There is currently no U.S. Recommended Daily Allowance for pantothenic
acid. It is naturally found in eggs, whole grains, and organ meats such as liver.
Supplements are also available.
